“Hello, John. It’s Frank over at Frito Lay. Good, thanks, how are you? Great. Listen, the reason I’m calling is because I’m looking at the comp of that ad you’re doing for Sun Chips. I love it. We all love it—we’re over the moon about it over here. We’re looking forward to the three-page spread. It’s going to be great. There’s just one thing—and we would have missed it completely if Jane hadn’t mentioned this in our meeting. Ok, here it is. We’re trying to project this image of the Sun Chips brand as being green. That’s why we’ve spent about a gazillion dollars coming up with the 100% compostable bag. We want to show that we’re not wasting resources. Anyway, in the meeting, Jane said that she thought that putting hundreds of thousands or however many actual empty bags in a magazine ad is a waste of resources. I just wanted to get your thoughts on that….uh huh…uh huh…yeah, that’s kind of how I felt, I mean most people are pretty goddamn stupid and they’ll be so wowed by this ad campaign that they won’t even notice that we’ve manufactured all these bags so that people can throw them away, I mean, they’re going to throw the goddamn magazine out anyway, right? Ok…well, we’re in agreement on that and if Jane gives me any lip, she’ll be parking cars for a living. Ok, John. You take care. Give my regards to the wife. Bye.”
