Like the headline says, this ad for T.G.I. Friday’s Complete Skillet Meals is bold, not bland. Whether you love the ad or hate it, you can’t ignore it, and that’s the point.
The ad uses the red and white tablecloth motif of the restaurant chain in a way that grabs your eye and doesn’t let go.
I’m not crazy about the “flavor that’ll knock your pants off” line but the rest of the ad is so arresting that the copy really doesn’t matter all that much. They could have gotten rid of the copy at the top completely and just said: EAT BOLD, NOT BLAND.
